Since I first started getting into Farscape enough to follow the story, I found out that they were
wandering around in space in some place in the Universe called the "Uncharted Territories."
However, the events in one of the episodes of the Princess Trilogy have caused me to
question my beliefs as to what the Uncharted Territories actually are.
Until LATP, I had always thought that the Uncharted Territories was a large chunk of space
beyond any known settlements, and that our intrepid crew got lost there, and had no maps.
But when I heard Sastaretski Cargn say to Aeryn, "We will not tolerate your interference so
far out in what you condescendingly call the Uncharted Territories," I started changing my
viewpoint.
Now I believe that the Uncharted Territories is merely the space in between the Charted
Territories. Think of it as a cross-sectioned street. On one corner, you have Peacekeeper
territory. On the next corner, there's the Scarran homeworld. On yet another corner sits
Nebari Prime. So on and so on. The Uncharted Territories probably have, in fact, been
completely charted. It's just that Moya was stolen from the Peacekeepers, who don't control
that space of territory, so they didn't have any charts of it to distribute to anyone who asks.
This could also explain how Scorpius was able to go everywhere that he did.
As such, Moya is not quite as lost as we thought. What our intrepid crew is probably trying to
do is find some way to get from Point "A" to Point "B" without entering into Point "N", if you get
my meaning.
Now think about this: They were probably on the very edge of Peacekeeper territory when
they escaped from Crais's carrier. The starburst that pulled Aeryn along probably took them
out of PKT and into the "neutral zone" that is the UT. Now, if they keep going on any direction,
they'll eventually exit the neutral zone and end up in someone else's territory. And since the
Nebari involvement in the show has picked up recently, I bet they're heading really close to
Nebari Territory (the Point "N" I was talking about earlier).
