Note: Basically cut-and-pasted from Lyme's post on the Farscape bbs. Oh, and the "first post" Lyme mentions in this essay is here, and it's mine.
Okay. Not very long ago, less than a week, prolly, someone posted a theory about Velorek
with evidence that support the idea that he could very well still be alive. Well! I was watching
through the Season 1 final four eps, and I noticed something *interesting* in FT that also
supports this theory.
Now, follow with me. The first post about this theory, (I'm so sorry, I forgot who posted it, and
I can't find it on the BB) reminded that, in TWWW, Crais says that Velorek was the only one
who could do what he wanted in the amount of time he wanted... Basically, that Velorek was
a pretty handy-dandy guy to have around the office... so, why kill him and waste all that
potential?
Okay, now that you basically get the gist of that post, I had a little something to add.
Remember, in FT, when Aeryn, for some obscure damn reason (which, honestly, I cannot
fathom) takes Crais on a tour of Talyn... and they have a little conversation about the PK/
Leviathan technology. Crais calls it a 'crowning glory', and makes hints about how this is
something they've been attempting for cycles. Aeryn then pretty much says, 'What, you mean
you know of other attempts to do the PK/Leviathan baby thang?' (Okay, not her exact words).
Crais says that there've been *numerous* attempts...
Now, chilluns, put 2 and 2 together, and what do you get? 5?! NO! Put down that copy of 1984,
dammit! I digress... Put 2 and 2 together, and you come up with this nifty idea:
We know that Aeryn and Velorek happened 3 cycles ago. At that point, they'd been on Moya,
say, 1 1/2 cycles, give or take a few monens. Sooooo... There is at least 1 1/2 cycles *before*
Crais went nutty with revenge, where he may have been privvy to info regarding more PK/
Leviathan hybrid attempts... in fact, if I recall, wasn't he in charge of the attempt with Moya? I
believe he was... I just got another nifty thought, but I'll get to that at the end.
Kay, so, Aeryn also says, 'They never got him to talk.' Doesn't neccessarily mean that they
killed Velorek. For all we know, it could mean that the PK's eventually decided that Aeryn
heard wrong, or Velorek was talking about something else, whatever, but they reinstated him,
or something. AND, to make sure that no trouble ensued, kept him on a different part of the
ship than any Aeryn would have access to... after all, those command carriers look to be
frelling huge.
For all we know, Velorek could have still been working under Crais during the time before
Moya's escape. He is too valuable to kill, if you ask me...
Now, for that other nifty thought... 1) In another ep, THM or Nerve, I believe, Crais mentioned
that Moya escaped from a convoy of his... now, I don't recall the battle from the Premiere real
well, and I'm not up to running and watching it at this sec, but, hey, we never *do* see this
whole convoy. For all we know, there could have been more than one command carrier.
AND... more than one Leviathan in this convoy. Think: Assume, that, at the time Crichton pops
up in the UT, Crais was still working on his Leviathan/PK warship project. I'm sure, he
would've had more than *just* MOya to work on... Y'dig? And just because he takes only one
command carrier after Crichton, doesn't mean that there weren't several others in the area
when Moya made a run for it.
Okay. Now. I hope someone understood what I was trying to say in that big mass of dren up
there... I tried to keep it semi-coherent. Lymey is going to go drink some decaf now, cause
that regular coffee is kicking in waaaaay too well.
